Pictures
A couple of people have commented on the lack of pictures on this blog. I guess massive blocks of text describing what I am doing/did are probably not as fun as pictures of me and/or others in action. So, I put up a pic of Pavy and me in DC Chinatown, and I might put up some more when I'm feeling less lazy.
The reason I don't have more pictures in general is that my digicam sucks. So, if I can't find an image I want to use amongst my meager collection of viable photos for any sort of online purpose (blogging, friendster, facebook, etc.), I tend to have to use other people's pics or scan film prints. I have a lot of pictures saved on my computer at work because I was bored one day and the computer and connection were so fast, it only took like 15 mins. What I didn't realize at the time was that my work computer does not have a CD burner, so I can't save the darn pictures onto a CD. What a waste. I think I might buy a USB flash drive or something to try to get those photos.
So, what's wrong with my camera? The flash is tempermental for some reason; a lot of the pictures turn out dark. Terrible. Time for a new camera. I'm thinking a Canon would be nice. My friend just got an SD400. It's pretty and so small! I'm worried that I will bang it up like I did my poor phone, though.
I'm also trying to decide between a new camera and an Ipod. I think I have convinced myself that I would go to the gym more often and be more prone to actually run on the weekends if I had an Ipod. Deep down, I know I'm just lying to myself because I used to work out at school and run around Lake Merced with my clunky CD-player all the time. I think I've simply fallen victim to Apple's tricky marketing ploys. Damn them! I want the mini in greeeeeeen or silver. I have to remember that I want it, but I don't need it. I guess I should be grateful that I have the luxury of choosing between two nonessential things, and then maturely decide that I shouldn't get anything at all. But then again, as we get older, we have fewer and fewer chances to get to play with new toys, and I really like toys ...
OK, enough of this; bed time for me. I'll probably have a bizarre dream about Ipods and cameras ...
